Xtrema Italian Bake Dinner
We cooked up a simple Italian Pasta Bake Meal last night in the Xtrema 10" Braiser/Baker. (look for this product to be available again in 2013). You can use any Xtrema Bakeware product depending upon how much you want to make.
Check out our line of bakeware right here.
No recipe, just put it together with what we had in the kitchen.
Ingredients:
Ground Turkey Meat
Jar of your favorite pasta sauce or homemade
Box of wholewheat pasta noodles
Fresh Mozzarella and shredded Mozzarella
Fresh Basil and Crushed Red Pepper for extra zest
We first browned the turkey meat in our Xtrema 10" Skillet and cooked the pasta in our Xtrema 2.5 Qt saucepan. We then sprayed the bottom of the Braiser with Olive Oil and then added pasta, then sauce, and chunks of fresh mozzarella. We layered this until we run out of pasta. We then topped off the dish with shredded Mozzarella, fresh Basil and Crushed Red Pepper. Bake for around 8 minutes and broil for 3 minutes or so to crisp the top. What you get is a delicious and simple 30 minute meal! The best part is that you can take your Xtrema Skillet and serve it right to the table-- it will keep the food warm and moist! Plus it looks great on the table too!

By using Xtrema, we were able to take it right out of the oven and place it directly on the table where it retained the heat and kept the dish nice and warm.
Here are some quick facts about Xtrema Ceramic Cookware and Bakeware.
Foods cooked and baked in ceramics taste better, look fresher and are healthier.
- Greater moisture retention. Foods cooked in Xtrema do not dry out like they do when cooking on top of the stove with metal cookware or using metal baking pans in a gas an electric oven.
- Meats, fish, vegetables and baked goods cooked in Xtrema are juicier even after long
periods of time. - There is little or no food shrinkage when cooking with Xtrema.
- Natural flavor is enhanced when cooking with Xtrema and there is never any toxic metal flavor in the food.
- Xtrema’s unique ceramic formula generates far infrared radiant heat and energy. Xtrema’s healthy and non toxic ceramic minerals like Silica Oxide (SiO2) which is used in our special clay mixture absorbs and emits far infrared radiant heat (FIR) which is the best heat for cooking foods.
- The retained heat in the ceramic walls of our Xtrema cookware does the cooking and keeps on cooking and heating long after the heat has been turned off.Thin walled stainless steel and aluminum metal cookware can not cook by retained heat because the thinness of the metal cookware is not capable of storing any heat. When the heat is turned down and off in metal cookware the cooking stops.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe
-- This is an old recipe found in a Betty Crocker's Cookbook from 1972. We added an Xtrema Twist using the 1.5 Qt Loaf Pan and a secret ingredient. Here is the Recipe:
■ 2 1/2 Cups all-purpose flour
■ 1 Cup of Sugar
■ 3 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
■ 1 teaspoon of Salt
■ 3 tablespoons of Salad Oil
■ 3/4 Cup of Milk
■ 1 Egg
■ 1 Cup of mashed ripe bananas (2-3 bananas)
■ 1 Cup of Chocolate Chips (semi-sweet)
■ Secret Ingredient-- 3 tablespoons of Orange Juice (this keeps the bread moist and tasty)
Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour the Xtrema Loaf Pan. Measure all ingredients into large mixer bowl; beat on medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping side and bottom of mixer bowl constantly.
Pour into Xtrema Loaf Pan. Bake for 55-65 minutes. Remember to allow the bread to thoroughly cool before slicing.
Hope you enjoy this tasty Chocolate Chip Banana Bread as much as we did!!!
